The Rocketeer vs. the Third Reich PC Game
A downloadable game
The year is 1939. You are pilot Cliff Secord, a.k.a. the reluctant hero known as the Rocketeer. When your mechanic and mentor, Peevy, is captured by the Nazis and taken to Germany, you are not far behind. Can you rescue Peevy and escape the chateau where he is being held captive?
This project is being created in the free games development software, GDevelop5. I wanted to learn how to use the program so decided to make a one level game to help. It blossomed into something somewhat bigger but the purpose has still been the same. Occasional updates can be found on The Thirteenth Hour Podcast and at https://13thhr.wordpress.com/game-ideas/
The full backstory (written as a choose your own adventure style text based game created in Twine, a html based programming language for making interactive fiction) is available here: https://13thhr.itch.io/the-rocketeer-vs-the-third-reich-text-based-adventure-gam...
There is also an analog card game using the pixelated sprites made for this game as the card art. You can find the instructions and the card for download / printing here: https://13thhr.itch.io/the-rocketeer-vs-the-third-reich-card-game
The Rocketeer was created by Dave Stevens. This is a work of fanfiction paying homage to his work and the world created in the 1991 Disney film, which is slightly different. All copyrights lie with their original holders.
This game is meant to be free. Any donations made will be given in full to the Hairy Cell Leukemia Foundation in memory of Dave Stevens.
